The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to become proficient using video call apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Skype. We all want to look great, regardless if we are meeting with someone in person or through a video call.
Here are some tips so you look radiant during your next video call!
Appearance: I know, I know! It's hard to get ready knowing that you might stay inside your house for the rest of the day however, personal appearance is the foundation for you to look radiant. Make sure you do your hair, brush your teeth, and wear clothes that boost your confidence.
Lighting: Make sure the lighting in the room is appropriate, meaning that it is not too dark or you are not causing temporary blindness to anyone joining your video call. No sidelight, backlight, and sitting in front of a window.
Background: Sometimes less is more! You do not want to distract people with a background that is all over the place. An appropriate background could be a plain wall with one or two pieces of art. Some of the call apps allow you the blur your background too.
Perspective: Do not get too close otherwise you will look distorted. "The closer you are to a wide-angle, the more distorted you are."
Eye Level: Do not place your laptop or phone looking at you at a lower level because people will be looking at your nostrils. Instead, place the camera straight and give your best smile!
